PV Power Optimizer

  Photovoltaic power optimizer is the key part in photovoltaic power generation optimization system. It can calculate the optima output power of each PV module and implement maximum power point tracking (MPPT) on each PV module individually. It has functions of communication, data collection, and maximum energy conversion. It can be used in grid-connected PV power stations of different scales.

 PV power optimizer was installed in a 1MW power station in Kangkang, Xinjiang in October 2015. The power output of the station was increased by more than 10% with the help of the optimizer.

On-Site Implementation

In February 2016, PV optimizer was installed in a 25KW PV power station in Leping, Guangdong Province. Because of the vulnerability of the rooftop PV power station to building shadows and bird droppings and the variation in components, the MPPT processed by the existing inverter could not meet the demand for full power output. Moreover, the lack of real-time data added to the difficulty of breakdown maintenance for engineers, which caused electricity leakage and low operation efficiency. The installation of PV power optimizer system has improved the power output of the station by 16.1% on average and therefore helped improve the efficiency of the station and enhance the management level.
